Camden Success!

Camden U Turn ..?

Wow! Camden Councillors have just voted through an amendment that U Turns its strip club policy that ‘there is a presumption to relicense all existing strip clubs’. This had in effect resulted in all its strip clubs having their license ‘rubber stamped’ year in year out for nearly a decade despite the policy also stating that ‘no strip clubs are appropriate anywhere in the borough’.

This could finally mean an end to the strip industry in Camden, as we and many others have been calling for, alongside quality exit support for those working in it.

Thank you to everyone who campaigned on this – 95% of respondents to Camden’s consultation on its strip clubs called for this (almost all of these responses, came from you using our template letters!)

This amendment needs to gain final approval by Council cabinet and legal team – we’ll keep you posted!
