Spearmint Rhino: 200 Breaches

‘Sex Acts, Unfit Management’

Sheffield City Council has now completed its investigation into Spearmint Rhino Sheffield after we exposed it operating as little short of a brothel.

Its report finds sexual contact rife, with 200 licensing breaches, and questions the suitability of management (5 of whom were questioned under caution).

Licensing Hearing

This comes just a few weeks before the annual licensing hearing for the strip club, where the Council will decide whether or not to relicense it. Thank you to everyone who objected to its license.

You can read all objections (390) and letters of support (less at 363, despite unremitting media support, many from staff and their family and friends alongside punters) and other info about the hearing here.

The date of the hearing is 16th Sept. If you already objected you will be told of this but you will need to let the Council know ASAP if you want to attend.

While all this is going on, Sheffield City Council is consulting on its licensing policy for strip clubs – it currently proposes no limit on how many may open!
